CASINOS

CASINOS

Roger A. Davis

You don’t have bambinos
Playing games in casinos
Grey haired crowds push the buttons
Wow, those slots are monetary gluttons

Table games, Black Jack, Pai Gow and Craps
Are for most, I think, fun addiction traps
I know I fit the bill, hundred large on the card
I confess, your Eden Prairie Prose bard

But it’s so much like the TV show “Cheers”
Being a regular and the staff calling you by name
Likewise in the poker room by your peers
And dealer, James, laughs at my jokes that are lame

Texas Hold’em is the boom
A tourney has four tables full in the room
Players bustin’ out with a loss all-in
Exciting last table - - who’s going to win?

Seriously, I play not for the cash
Frankly, most of us leave behind some of our stash
It’s the fun of a chance to hit the bad beat
And kidding with others from my wheelchair seat

Video Poker is my latest thing
Getting jacks or better, you hear a ding
Four Aces, my best hand to date
Is there a Royal flush in my fate?

Been to Vegas and a KC river boat
Prairie Band Casino & Resort gets my favorite vote
North of Topeka on the Potawatomi Nation
Hope to meet you there for that gambling sensation
