LABORS OF LOVE
Roger A. Davis
I've heard some would do their jobs for free
They have found that their careers fit them to a tee
Others go to work to pay the bills
Caring for their families from life’s ills
Labors of love are not always pleasant to do
Like taking care of your child with the flu
Or cleaning up your puppy’s mess
A chore I dread, I confess
Many have hobbies they treasure
Like sports with extreme pleasure
Think of the Olympians’ dedication
Years of training and preparation
The greatest example of the title above
Is Jesus, shown in God’s love
His spirit will guide you every day
In your service to mankind of even in your play
