CHILD'S PLAY

CHILD’S PLAY

Roger A. Davis

Read me a story?
Let us pretend
Open up your heart
Let the child come in

Be done with pretension
Your heart needs its thumb
Sing, rock and play
Do not become numb

The day is nearing
Do you know where your children are today?
Can you hear them ask?
“Please, can we come in to play?”

Open up your door
To God’s children at play
Take them into your lap
Enter the rest with them, Today
